MIC Testimonials
We just wanted you to know that we were extremely pleased with your program. We thought the mix of skills and 3 on 3 play was fantastic. Our son improved significantly over the 3.5 weeks from the skills and from the opportunity to touch the puck more than he had in his 1st year novice. We also appreciated the coaching you and your team provided on the bench during the 3 on 3 games. I could definitely see that he learned more about the game and his purpose on the ice from your coaching. We traveled about 50 minutes each way (in traffic an hour) to attend your sessions and it was definitely worth it.

We're so glad the program went ahead this August, our son had fun and got a chance to tune up his skills at the same time. The big selling feature for us was the 3 on 3 format. Hockey schools and conditioning camps serve their purpose, but MIC offered 3 ice times/week over the course of a month at great times, as oppose to one week of hard skating and drills. The 3 on 3 for the Novice (and I would argue Atom as well) is a lot more fun, and at that age level it is difficult to motivate kids to skate hard for the sake of a drill and then try and call it ' fun'. The sessions were spaced out and kept our son's interest and motivation level high. I guarantee two weeks of back to back hockey school would have had him resenting hockey instead of looking forward to playing a game each session and looking forward to the upcoming season.
We also liked the 2 minute shifts as oppose to 1 minute which is often the case in 3 on 3 format. Again, for Novice age groups with the size of the ice surface, it is hard to do much in only one minute = basically one rush up and back. For older kids one minute is more appropriate. The number of kids was perfect, ensuring everyone got an equal and decent amount of ice time each game.

I think I’ve already let you know how awesome we think your camps are. What I especially liked about the Multi Sport is it gives the players a chance to apply their sports minds to something other than hockey. It develops additional skills that they can use for hockey, and other sports, and keeps them from getting tired of just hockey.
I really like that you’ve gotten to know each player, and I have also heard you making little comments to them about improving as people and leaders, not just in hockey and I appreciate that you care about that too.
I’ve told everyone I’ve talked to about how impressed I am with your camps.

Penny and I wanted to thank you very much for what you and the coaches did for us and our son during the advanced novice summer camp. It might not seem like a big deal, but I don't think you can appreciate the major step it was for us and our son.
For years as a kid I attended a full day, week long hockey camp that was run by Bruce Boudreau and really enjoyed it. Having been diagnosed with diabetes, it was something that I was certain that our son wouldn’t be able to participate in until he was much older and was fully able to manage himself. He proved us wrong and reaffirmed that sometimes we underestimate what our children are capable of! It also provided a nice “test run” for his first full days at school.
With that being said, it would not have been possible without the support of you and the other coaches and a willingness to help take on some of that responsibility. Having been involved with you as coach through spring hockey and the camp, Penny and I think very highly of you as both a coach and a mentor to the kids and I can tell you that our son always came away from every practice, game or camp day with a big smile on his face and when asked how it was, he always said “awesome”!
I can also tell you that the feedback I have heard from other parents that either attended an MIC camp or program or have otherwise had you coaching their kids has all been very similar.

I would not hesitate in putting our son in this camp again next year.
He absolutely loved it all (especially the hockey) & we love that he is now independant enough to put on his own hockey gear. It was also very reasonably priced compared to many of the other programs out there.
The coaching staff were brilliant according to our son & he's eager for hockey to start now & wishes he had the same coaches for the whole hockey season.
Unfortunately we couldn't be there due to work commitments, but we hear that the camp was very well organised & he was sad when it was over.
Thanks so much & we look forward to taking part again next year.
