MIC Power Skating
The most important skill set in the game of hockey is skating. The game of hockey is a fast paced sport, and players need to have the ability to skate efficiently and effectively. A good hockey player needs to have good stride technique, balance and coordination, edge control, transition and pivoting skills, both forwards and backwards. Our power skating sessions are geared towards working on each of the above skills sets in an atmosphere the pushes players out of their comfort level, resulting in optimal performance and skill acquisition. Skating is a unique movement, and to perfect a stride, edge work, and or transitional movements, players need to perform a sequence of systematic progressions, that work towards making him or her a better hockey player.
MIC offers private lessons, group lessons, and week-long power skating and edge control clinics throughout the year. These clinics are geared towards a variety of skating techniques that include but not limited to; stride technique, edge control, balance, turning, pivoting and transition. These clinics are guaranteed to make your son or daughter a better skater.
